Parables of Jesus

The Mystery?

“The mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations is now disclosed to the saints. To them God has chosen to make known among the gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:26-27)

The term “mystery” in the New Testament refers to doctrinal truth hidden from mankind prior to Christ’s ministry but subsequently revealed. The Apostle Paul uses the term to describe many developments in God’s plan including the Gospel of Jesus Christ, formation of the church as the body of Christ and the inclusion of gentiles under grace.
